Sung to the tune of 'Oh Christmas Tree' Oh Festivus, oh Festivus, the holiday for the rest of us. We have our pole, tis tinsel free, and feats of strength, who needs a tree? Oh Festivus, oh Festivus, the holiday for the rest of us..... No gifts required, and nothing sought, no mall trips planned, no bullshit bought, comments or ideas for other (co)stanzas or better lyrics? Planning a Festivus partySubmitted by Fieberg on 1 December, 2005 - 11:13am.
I am planning a Festivus party this weekend for coworkers. I made a pole, sent out an "airing of grievances" form for people to fill out ahead of time, and am currently making up Feats of Strength Challenge cards (that will allow party-goers to challenge others to feats of strength). Here is where I need your help. I want to come up with interesting feats of strengths that will work for both adults and kids (there will be several small children ranging from 3 to about 8 and I think the challenges may help keep them entertained). So far, I have a list of things that would be easy to implement (e.g., thumbwrestling, leg wrestling, stare contest, perhaps a "holding ones breath contest"). Unfortunately, I think these feats are rather lacking in creativity. I am reaching out to the larger Festivus commuity for ideas. Any help would be greatly appreciated (you can email me at johnfieberg@msn.com). Thanks! Festivus in Rhode IslandSubmitted by mdhsails on 21 November, 2005 - 11:36am.
It's a Festivus Miracle!Submitted by gerber on 20 November, 2005 - 5:22pm.
With neither time nor money to find our first Festivus pole, a miracle has happened letting us know this move to Festivus from Hanukkah is the right one. Festivus PartySubmitted by alexandra248 on 15 November, 2005 - 5:11pm.

Gripe, snicker, flee, post remembrances of Festivi past, Jerry Stiller sightings, ways in which the Festivus book has saved your life or allowed you to save the lives of others (it can be used to make a rickety table less rickety and thereby prevent a lightbulb changer who does not own a proper ladder from taking a nasty, collarbone-breaking spill when a table leg rocks unexpectedly), or tips on local festivus pole aquisition locations. |
