Local Festivus events in Minneapolis?

Submitted by brgtr3 on 6 November, 2008 - 8:35am.

Without getting too involved, does anyone know if there will be a Festivus celebration anywhere in the Twin Cities? I think the Nomad Pub did one in 2008, but I'm too lazy to call them.

Perhaps some of you are more energetic or more in-the-know.

Please help! I need to plan out my beer consumption and Festivus will play a large part in that.

Apparel for Feats of Strength

I am positive one should not wear a suit or a dress (depending on gender), what should one wear during the FOS? One could imagine a Sumo type minimalist outfit though it might scare the children...
Should there be a ceremonial attire?

I was ruminating over the fact that I send out a bi-zillion cards at Christmas and get precious little back. Then it hit me - Festivus would be my answer! Next Chrismas, Festivus cards, all with the inscription "I have made a donation to the Human Fund in your name for all perpetuity!

truck tensioning twits

Submitted by kia fest ivus on 29 December, 2007 - 6:58pm.

why do some people who drive pickup trucks tension bungie cords across the empty truck beds does it cut the air moving across the bed? does it increase the rigidity of the truck bed, when bungies come with warnings about eye injuries and advise never to stretch it over half its length i just cringe thinking one of these is going to let loose and waffle somebody with a metal hook

Christmas Music Denied

Submitted by baylorbarrister on 26 December, 2007 - 11:23am.

I gave a friend a very simple assignment: "Record some holiday music" that was going to be played on the radio at a specific time and specific day. "I'll get it" he replied. Did he? Hell no. He screwed the pooch. Thanks Stan. Bastard.

car noises

Submitted by kia fest ivus on 24 December, 2007 - 7:20pm.

my grievance is people who hear noises in their car, as a mechanic i'm obligated to ride with them to verify the "NOISE"
as we are walking out to their car they ask "do you want to drive" "no thanks"(its your noise you drive)
