DUMB AMERICANS

Submitted by smarterthanyou on 19 December, 2006 - 7:10pm.

You are not the only person that matters.

You consume too much of everything. Do you really need the biggest car, biggest house, newest whatever, most trendy clothes? Think for yourself and be unique. If you haven't figured it out yet, your minds are being controlled by the media and the government for the purpose of mass consumerism. Wake up you greedy, glutinous, over indulging, lazy, dumb American.

Question authority cause you are being lied to every day, but who cares as long as you have all the comforts you need. The more comfortable you are, the safer you feel; therefore you end up being more content to continue living your life the same. Hmmmm. I wonder why.

Wake up before you life expires.

HEY STUPID

THOUGHT THIS WAS FESTIVUS NOT POLITICS DUMB-ASS

french...like the dressing?

I am not sure why it has been assumed that the comments in question were issued forth by a Frenchman (or woman)...to criticize greed, gluttony and self serving indulgence is to be Un-American? Huh...I did not know that.

Thank You For Pointing This Out

You are completely correct. As good Americans, we need to constantly question, criticize, and debate. That's how things are changed. Unfortunately, there are those in this world who haven't quite grasped this concept yet. From some of the postings here, I think that some folks are happier throwing sticks and rocks as monkeys do. Perhaps they are a couple of chromosomes short. As for greed and gluttony, that's bad no matter which way you look at it.

Dumb Americans?

If we as Americans are so DUMB,how did we ever manage to save France's ass during WWII. If it weren't for us there wouldn't
be a France- they would all be speaking GERMAN!!!!

What Does WWII Have to do With This?

This is the typical (and predicable) ignorant American response... and it further proves how stupid Americans are.

Sound just like the dolt at the top

Maybe you should read my "You Are a Moron..." posting below given how strongly you feel about your views on Americans and all. If you still feel the same after reading it, well, you should get a good sense of what I think of your comment. And by the way, next time to do a posting, maybe you should run a spell check. It's "PREDICTABLE", not "PREDICABLE".

...Preaching to the Idiots of the World

You're a Moron...

Okay, I'm going to venture a guess and say that you have probably never visited the States. I happen to live in an area with a large immigrant population, and it never ceases to amaze me how it takes these folks about two years of working here in a high tech job with a fat paycheck before they’ve bought a nice upscale home and a gas guzzling sport utility vehicle to haul their family around in. I guess what I am trying to say is that most everyone who comes here fits in fairly well, unlike most other places on earth. If it troubles you that a place exists where nobody cares where you are from and where the opportunity exists to reap the rewards of your hard work, then you can f**k off. I say this not only for me, but also for all of the Chinese, Indians, Europeans, and Middle Easterners who live in my neighborhood and bust their ass day in and day out to support their families and make my country a better place to live in.

As for these next comments, understand that I like pretty much everyone no matter where you are from. However, I just cannot pass on the little tit for tat exchange we seem to be having here about who is superior to whom. While we Americans may not be a perfect lot with our history of slavery, genocide against our native peoples, and civil rights issues, let us not forget the great contributions to human civilization our friends from across the pond have given us including colonial racism, religious extremism, Facism, and Nazi death camps. And since we are making comparisons to the French, doesn’t anyone remember Algeria? You know, the place where superior French/European morality and sensibilities indulged in the liberal application of torture and summary executions. And let’s not forget about more recent events. If you folks have such perfect, superior societies, then please tell me and everyone else why your disenfranchised immigrant populations are either trying to blow things up or burn down half the countryside.

You know, it just burns me when people deal in generalities and paint everyone with the same colored brush. Stupid people deal in generalities. Here, I’ll say it so some of you slower folks can understand. “YOU…ARE…A…MORON!” As for the folks above who called us ass wipes, I’ll add this. If we are ass wipes, then you are the sh*t in the bottom of the crapper.

A Very Proud American

Agreed.

Well thought out. I agree 100%.

French?

I have to assume from your asswipe remarks that you are French. Go back to France you jerk. If you are not French, move there and live with the rest of the rest of the world's assholes.

French.

I for one think the French are more evolved than you are. Remember, they are the ones who gave us the ideas of democracy, and they were the biggest allies we had in the American Revolution. And they have had the good sense not to invade any Third World country lately and kill 650,000 of its inhabitants and nearly 3,000 of their own kids.

And their houses never seem to run out of toilet paper, unlike your house.

You sir, are the asswipe. Or as I like to say, a Flaming Sh*theel.

People Who Scapegoat the French Are Assholes

The French have self-awareness. Most Americans do not. Maybe we Americans are jealous that the French know how to live well.

Don't generalize.

Although I agree with many of your points, you are making a mistake in generalizing to all the people who live in the United States. For example, roughly half of all voters voted against the Bush administration. This is a democracy, and the price that we pay for it is that the majority often determines policy, although many of us do not agree with it. The alternative to democracy is unattactive, as we have been witness to other nations that are not democracies making poor use of their resources, dividing their wealth unfairly, and abusing the human rights of minorities.

On the other hand, the comments that you make can be applied to a large segment, perhaps the majority of the entire world. Because the rest of the world was not lucky enough to be born in a country built on a formidable stock of natural resources, there are many people who do not have enough. Would they not be complacent if they, too, were comfortable? Some would argue that this is human nature, not a trait of those that live in the United States.

I'm sorry that your experiences have led you to such a position of venomous hostility. I hope that you will get to know more inhabitants of the United States (in person, not through the media of any country) before making generalizations.

We Americans have high ideals, but...

We're not leading the world in protecting human rights (we have our own backyard to clean up) and we have certainly engaged in our fair share of undemocratic behavior toward our own citizens and citizens of other nations.

I think that is part of the initial grievance. There's a willfull ignorance in some Americans that makes them think our culture and our country are above reproach. That's a dysfunctional mindset for our populace that has led us into the mess we're in now and led us into the mess that was Vietnam (which is now comfortably Communist-- the very government model we tried to prevent them from creating).

Very eloquently put. It's a

Very eloquently put. It's a shame that this person aired their Festivus gripe out of ignorance and based upon TV, movies, and the media. Hopefully in the future they can base their Festivus gripes on intelligent grounds rather than misplaced emotional grounds.

Waaaaa, waaaa, waaaaa...

Lazy, dumb, fat Americans? Gee... it's just too fricken' bad that we own everything, isn;t it?? (LAUGHING)

Manifest Destiny

Manifest destiny, eh? And just how long have you had these delusions of superiority? Did you earn it? What have YOU done to contribute to America's ownership of "everything?". YOU make ME laugh, especially if you are over 21. See if Saint Peter can find your name on the list.

You Just (Unknowingly) Proved His Point

Arrogant AND ignorant.

"We own everything".

Foreigners owns lots of American companies (T-Mobile, Burger King, Chrysler, for starters).

Try reading a newspaper once in a while, Skippy.
